My mom taught me to sew when I was about 10 years old. She made all of my clothes, her clothes and drapes, blankets, etc, until I was 13. When I was about 6, I was going to run away from home taking only a chocolate chip cookie and her sewing machine. I've been sewing off and on ever since then. I have been known to sew for several years at a pop and then take a long break (to the tune of about 7 years), when people start to intrude on my sewing plans (Oh, you sew? Would you make me..??). Thankfully, I'm older now and "no" comes out of my mouth a lot easier.
I'm also a clothes-horse. I love clothing and always have. Especially well made clothes. Now, well made clothes at bargain prices? Sign me up!
